- Add the Vercel MCP server to your client
Add https://mcp.vercel.com as a remote MCP server that uses the Streamable HTTP transport (often labelled "http"). Vercel publishes one-click installs for Cursor, VS Code and Goose, and an add-mcp tool that configures detected clients. Confirm that you are connecting to the official endpoint.

Your client should list the server's tools. That confirms the connection, not every API permission.

- 5 Nov 2026: HTTP 401 with WWW-Authenticate error invalid_token and resource_metadata https://mcp.vercel.com/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource, which names the authorization server https://vercel.com and scope openid.
