Sources and counting method
We read the public plugin list embedded in Cursor Marketplace on 2026-10-31. Each distinct plugin ID counts once. “Plugins declaring MCPs” counts plugins with a non-empty MCP component list. “MCP declarations” sums those components, including repeated servers across plugins. Automations and agent templates are separate and excluded.
The snapshot is refreshed manually using our checked importer, not a live sync. A linked configuration file is evidence of a declaration, not proof that its endpoint works outside Cursor. Publisher names are copied from Cursor metadata; inclusion does not grant API Tracker’s Official or runtime-tested status.
Before adding Cursor as a registry source, we need to extract and validate the published configurations, preserve their provenance, match exact existing endpoints or packages, and review authentication and client compatibility.
