# How to connect the Vercel MCP server

To connect the official Vercel MCP server, add https://mcp.vercel.com to your MCP client as a Streamable HTTP server, then sign in with OAuth when your client prompts you. Vercel documents setup for Claude Code, Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, VS Code and Windsurf.

- Endpoint: https://mcp.vercel.com
- Transport: Streamable HTTP
- Registry: com.vercel/vercel-mcp 0.0.3
- Publisher documentation reviewed: 2026-11-05 (not a tested connection)
- Guide page: https://apitracker.io/mcp-guides/vercel-mcp

## Before you start

- A Vercel account. Vercel MCP is available on all plans and use is subject to Vercel's AI Product Terms.
- Vercel MCP accepts clients that Vercel has reviewed and approved, or clients that identify themselves with a Client ID Metadata Document (CIMD). Users still approve each connection.
- Connecting grants the AI client the same access as your Vercel user account. Team permissions and the OAuth grant affect which tools are available.

## Steps

1. **Open Vercel's MCP setup instructions for your client** <https://vercel.com/docs/agent-resources/vercel-mcp>
2. **Add the Vercel MCP server to your client** Add https://mcp.vercel.com as a remote MCP server that uses the Streamable HTTP transport (often labelled "http"). Vercel publishes one-click installs for Cursor, VS Code and Goose, and an add-mcp tool that configures detected clients. Confirm that you are connecting to the official endpoint.
3. **Sign in to Vercel and approve access in the OAuth window**
4. **List the server's tools**
