# How to connect the Figma MCP server

To connect the official Figma MCP server, add https://mcp.figma.com/mcp to your MCP client as a Streamable HTTP server, then sign in with OAuth when your client prompts you. Figma documents setup for Claude Code, Claude, Codex, Cursor and VS Code.

- Endpoint: https://mcp.figma.com/mcp
- Transport: Streamable HTTP
- Registry: com.figma.mcp/mcp 1.0.3
- Publisher documentation reviewed: 2026-11-05 (not a tested connection)

## Before you start

- A Figma account. You can only use the server with Figma files that account can already access.
- Usage limits depend on plan and seat. View and Collab seats and the Starter plan get up to 20 tool calls per month; Full and Dev seats get 200 per day on Professional, Education and Organization plans and 600 per day on Enterprise, with per-minute limits.
- Writing to the canvas outside your drafts needs a Full seat. It is free during the beta and Figma says it will become a usage-based paid feature.
- Only clients listed in the Figma MCP catalog can connect to the server.

## Steps

1. **Open Figma's remote MCP server setup instructions for your client** <https://developers.figma.com/docs/figma-mcp-server/remote-server-installation/>
2. **Add the Figma MCP server to your client** Where available, install Figma's plugin for your client, which includes the server settings and Figma's skills. Otherwise add https://mcp.figma.com/mcp as a remote MCP server that uses the HTTP transport. The Figma desktop app is not needed.
3. **Sign in to Figma and allow access**
4. **List the server's tools**
