# How to connect the Alchemy MCP server

To connect the official Alchemy MCP server, add https://mcp.alchemy.com/mcp to your MCP client as a Streamable HTTP server, then sign in with OAuth when your client prompts you. Alchemy documents setup for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Claude and VS Code.

- Endpoint: https://mcp.alchemy.com/mcp
- Transport: Streamable HTTP
- Registry: com.alchemy/mcp 0.9.5
- Publisher documentation reviewed: 2026-11-05 (not a tested connection)
- Guide page: https://apitracker.io/mcp-guides/alchemy-mcp

## Before you start

- An Alchemy account. You sign in with it when the client starts the OAuth flow.
- RPC and data tools need an Alchemy app. Run the select_app tool first to choose which app the server uses.

## Steps

1. **Open Alchemy's MCP server setup instructions for your client** <https://www.alchemy.com/docs/alchemy-mcp-server>
2. **Add the Alchemy MCP server to your client** Add https://mcp.alchemy.com/mcp as a remote MCP server that uses the Streamable HTTP transport (VS Code labels it "http"). No API key or local install is needed.
3. **Sign in with your Alchemy account when the client prompts you**
4. **Choose the Alchemy app for RPC and data tools** Before you use RPC or data tools, run the select_app tool. The server caches that app's API key and uses it for those calls. Admin tools that manage your account and apps don't need this step.
5. **List the server's tools**
